On September 3rd, after a tireless time of preparing to move into their new home, Rachael and Herb Jr. were scheduled to take Herbie to have an MRI as he had been experiencing intense headaches.
That same day, following the MRI, they learned Herbie had a brain tumor. Rachael and Herb Jr. drove immediately to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL.
On Saturday, September 4th, Herbie had emergency brain surgery to take out the brain tumor that was located at the back of the brain by the cerebellum. The next step was to do a biopsy to see if the tumor was cancerous.
Herbie Taylor III
On Wednesday, September 8th, the tumor was found to be cancerous. Herbie must endure at least 6 weeks of radiation, every day for a couple of hours and 6-12 months of chemotherapy.
Herbie stayed over a week at the hospital. He had to slowly walk again, sit up, play, and smile. However, his journey is just beginning. He will receive treatment in Winfield, IL. He will fight this and HEAL!
The Taylor family's life changed in a day. I ask that we come together and help support them so they can be strong and take care of Herbie as he starts his journey to healing and freedom from cancer.
